The department of Information Technology was established in the year 2011 with intake of 18. with an aim to enhance the IT workface in the country. The department is well equipped with latest IT requirements which will enrich the student's knowledge to compete with the industry requirement. All hardware and software development in the field of IT are taught to the students apart from the university syllabus

Faculty members and students are provided opportunities to join as member of professional societies such as SAE, ISTE and IE.

Objective

Information Technology (IT) in general, comprises all aspects of computing and networking technologies. The IT program is user centered and helps users in organizations with all the following phases:

Selection, creation, application, integration and administration of computing and networking technologies. This program provides the graduates with the skills and knowledge to help them in the acquisition of appropriate careers after graduation in the field of Information Technology. It can also help them in pursuing research or graduate studies in this field. Moreover, with the basic background they acquire, they can follow up technological advances and carry on a lifelong learning career.

Within a short period after graduation, the student will be able to:

• Apply the appropriate IT and methodologies needed for organizations to achieve their goals and manage their resources.
• Absorb new developments in IT and assess the needs of the organization from such advances in a proactive manner.
• Contribute to the scientific and the theoretical foundations of IT.
